Sprinkle baking soda on the stain to absorb the oil. Use a soft bristle brush to work it slightly into the carpet. Then after fifteen minutes, vacuum to remove the powder. Blot the stain using a dry cleaning solvent. Leverette explains, “If you do not have a dry cleaning solvent or carpet cleaning product, mix one tablespoon of hand dishwashing detergent in two cups of hot water. Treat the stain as quickly as possible. Remove as much peanut butter as possible from the floor with a dull knife. Leverette states “Mix a solution of two cups warm water, one tablespoon liquid dishwashing detergent and two tablespoons distilled white vinegar. Dip a clean white cloth, paper towel, or sponge in the solution and wring out excess moisture. • Soak the nail polish stain with a generous amount of white vinegar.

• Lay a vinegar-soaked rag on top of the stain.

• Sit for about 10 minutes.

• Blot the stain with the vinegar-soaked rag.

• Scrub (yes, it’s okay to do it now) the mark with a clean, damp rag

• Let the spot air dry completely.
